Vietnam has opened a consulate general in Ekaterinbua, capital of Svetlov in Russia on September 21.

At the opening ceremony, the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Nguyen Thanh Son said that the all-around development of Vietnam-Russia strategic partnership requires the setting up of a consulate general to promote relations between the two countries. He said he hoped that the consulate general will help Vietnamese people in Ekaterinbua with legal procedures and protect its citizens.

Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Bui Dinh Dinh said that the new consulate general will be an important link to promote relations in economics, trade, investment, culture and education between Vietnam and Russia for the benefit of both countries.

This is Vietnam’s second consulate general in Russia after the one in Vladivostok.
