Vietnam is ready to help Tanzania develop agriculture based on a tripartite cooperation model with support from Japan or bilateral cooperation, says State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

ReceivingTanzanian PM Mizengo Peter Pinda, in Hanoi on March 30, Mr Triet said the PM’s visit to Vietnam will open up a new period of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Mr Triet praised the achievements Tanzania has recorded over the past few years and thanked the Tanzanian people for their support for Vietnam during the past struggle for national liberation and the current process of Doi Moi (Renewal).

The Tanzanian PM spoke highly of Vietnam’s experience in economic development and expressed his country’s wish to cooperate with Vietnam in all fields, particularly in agriculture, irrigational construction and food processing.

He said that after his visit, Tanzania will send a business delegation to Vietnam to cement their cooperation. He pledged to create the best possible conditions for Vietnamese investments in Tanzania, and deal with arising disputes as soon as possible to avoid negatively affecting bilateral relations.

The same day, the Tanzanian leader and his delegation laid floral tributes at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
