During her visit to the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) in Hanoi on January 17, Maria da Luz Guebuza, wife of the visiting President of the Republic of Mozambique expressed her wish to bolster ties among women of the two countries through exchange activities in all fields.

Ms Guebuza emphasised the need for joint efforts in poverty reduction, elimination of hunger and illiteracy, HIV/AIDS prevention and facilitation of the women’s development.

 

The VWU’s Vice President Nguyen Thi Oanh affirmed that the union is willing to share experiences with Mozambiquean women and introduce such effective models as credit funds, vocational training, job generation, dissemination of HIV/AIDS prevention and reproductive health.

 

The same day, Ms Guebuza visited the Vietnam Women’s Museum, the VWU’s Centre for Vocational Training and Job Promotion and the XQ Embroidery Art Centre.
