Receiving Malaysian ambassador to Vietnam, Ahmad Anuar Abdul Hamid, in Hanoi on January 19, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that Vietnam aims to boost economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Dung expressed his belief that trade turnover between Vietnam and Malaysia will reach US$2 billion in 2007. The Vietnamese Government has always created favourable conditions for Malaysian enterprises to invest in Vietnam, particularly in such fields as energy, electricity, oil and gas exploration, education and training, and labour contracting, Mr Dung said.
As members of the ASEAN bloc, Vietnam and Malaysia should promote comprehensive cooperation in all fields to enhance the positions of the two countries in the international arena.
For his part, the Malaysian ambassador to Vietnam pledged to encourage Malaysian enterprises and groups to invest more in Vietnam. He also confirmed that he will always promote the fine relations between Vietnam and Malaysia.
