The visit was part of a cooperation programme between the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications and the Malaysia Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in this field.
The two sides agreed to promote information exchange, share experience in information and communications management, cooperate in human resource training and implement measures to realise common goals.
During their working session on July 15, Minister Hop and Malaysian Deputy Minister Information, Communications and Culture Soseph Salang reviewed achievements of the two ministries’ cooperation programmes and highlighted common views on management.
Mr Hop said he wants to learn from Malaysia’s experience in managing online games and pre-paid mobile phone services. Vietnam aims to become a powerful information technology (IT) nation and is currently focused on developing human resources for the IT sector, software production, broadband IT infrastructure, e-government, and building giant IT groups with international trademarks.
Soseph Salang pledged to create favourable conditions for businesses of both countries to operate in the field of information and communications.
