Over the past 35 years, relations between Vietnam and Libya have developed positively and both states always support and help each other in the struggle against embargos.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Libyan Parliament, Mohammed Abu Kasim Al-Zawi at a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador Dao Duy Tien who presented him with his credentials on March 30.

Libya wants to lift bilateral relations between the two countries to a new level to meet their peoples’ desire for peace, security and stability, chairman Al-Zawi said.

Ambassador Tien reaffirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening its ties with Libya. He thanked Libya for supporting Vietnam in the past struggles for national independence and in the current process of national construction and development. Vietnam highly appreciates Libya’s role and position in Africa and the international arena, Ambassador Tien said.
