Dang Ngoc Tung, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) on February 24 held a meeting with senior delegation of the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU), led by its President Khamla Lolonsy during their visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged information about political, socio-economic, cultural, as well as labour unions situations of the two countries.

Mr Tung, who is also member of the Party Central Committee, expressed his delight at development of trade union movements in both countries over the past years which became the motive power for the sectors to fulfil their tasks. 

LFTU President Khamla Lolonsy thanked the VGCL for their assistance in training Lao staff, providing textbooks for its schools, building training centres and sharing knowledge on protection of workers’ right. 

At the event, Lao Party and State awarded Dang Ngoc Tung a Labour Order first class, and other seven VGCL’s senior officials Labour Order second class for their contributions to Lao trade union movement.
