Vietnam, Laos strengthen special solidarity

(VOV) - PM Dung has highlighted the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, noting the practical and meaningful advances made in the relationship during the 2012 Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year.

At a Hanoi reception for a high-ranking delegation led by Lao Deputy PM Asang Laoly on December 10, PM Dung also praised the Lao Party’s, State’s, and people’s achievements in national renovation, construction, and defence.

He congratulated Laos on its admission to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and its successes organising the ninth Asia-Europe meeting (ASEM9), and related conference.

The PM reiterated the Vietnamese Party, State, Government, and people always stand side by side with Laos and value their precious relationship.

The Lao Deputy PM congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in all fields, but especially on the implementation of the 11th National Party Congress’ resolution.

He also thanked the Vietnamese Party, State, and people for their great support in the revolutionary cause and briefed the PM on the results of a conference discussing bilateral cooperation in building a Vietnam-Laos border of development and stability.

He said that the Laos Party, State, and Government acknowledged the two nations’ results in border development, affirming that both sides will coordinate to overcome current shortcomings and realise the project’s set targets.
