Mr Trong, who is also a Politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), made this statement while receiving a high-ranking delegation of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP)’s Commission for External Relations, led by Politburo member and Commission Head Thongloun Sisoulith.

The legislator noted that the Vietnam-Laos special relationship is growing fruitfully in all fields, bringing practical benefits to the process of national construction and development in both countries.

Mr Trong spoke highly of the results of the earlier talks between the External Relations Commissions of the CPVCC and LPRP and applauded their contributions to the enhancement of bilateral relations.

He also requested the two commissions to work together to accomplish their assigned tasks, increase the exchange of information, well coordinate in foreign affairs and effectively implement the already signed agreements.

Sisoulith, who also doubles as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, informed his host of the recent situation in Laos and affirmed that Laos will do its utmost to bring the Laos-Vietnam friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation to a new level.
