During the visit, Hang and his counterpart, Secretary of the Xieng Khouang Party Committee and Governor Somkot Mangnomek, signed agreements on boosting cooperation in security and economy, mainly focusing on the protection of common borders, trade, investment, agriculture, culture, sports and tourism.

Both parties also reviewed cooperation over the years.

Nghe An province agreed to send experts to help Xieng Khouang develop its radio and television broadcasting services.

Earlier, the Party’s Executive Board from Champassak province held a plenary session on the carrying out of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Champassak and central cities and provinces of Vietnam over the 2006-2010 period.

They also adopted a draft plan for cooperation in the 2011-2015 period.
