A Vietnamese delegation led by Giang Seo Phu, Minister-Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Affairs met with a Lao delegation headed by Tong Yeu Tho, Vice Permanent President of the Lao Front for National Construction in Hanoi on December 14.

During the meeting, Giang Seo Phu said that Vietnam will open more courses on ethnic affairs for Lao officials in 2010, organise activities to promote cooperation between the two countries’ provinces, facilitate discussions on ethnic issues and coordinate a Vietnam-Laos border provincial meeting.

The Lao Front for National Construction on its part, will also draft a cooperation programme for ethnic affairs with Vietnam for the 2011-2015 period.

The two sides agreed that the cooperation in ethnic affairs between the Vietnamese Committee for Ethnic Affairs and the Lao Front for National Construction made significant contributions to strengthening solidarity and traditional friendship between the two countries’ people.

The Lao guests highly valued Vietnam’s aid, including training courses, and exchange of experiences in ethnic affairs.

On this occasion, the Committee for Ethnic Affairs presented the Lao Front for National Construction with 20 sets of computers.
