Court Cooperation between Vietnam and Lao has seen significant improvements since they signed a cooperation agreement in 2008.

At the meeting, they informed each other about the development of the court sector in their respective countries and agreed to exchange their experiences in managing the sector. Vietnam will also help Laos to improve its court staffs with a project, expected to be carried out in 2011-2012 period.

President Sayavong expressed his thanks to Vietnam for helping Laos train its human resources. He confirmed that the Lao Supreme Court will do its best to develop the sector.

The meeting is part of the Lao delegation’s visit to Vietnam, from September 7-13, at the invitation of Vietnamese Chief Justice of Vietnam, Truong Hoa Binh.

During the visit, Mr. Sayavong will meet with Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Prosecutor General Tran Quoc Vuong, and the Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and participate in the celebration to mark the 65th anniversary of the Vietnam’s People’s court sector.
