A delegation of the Vietnam Supreme People's Procuracy, led by General Prosecutor Nguyen Hoa Binh, worked with its Lao counterpart, headed by its Director Khamsan Suvong on December 7 to increase collaborative efforts in the field.

During the working session, both sides informed each other of operation of their procuracy agencies and shared orientations for 2012.

A consensus was reached focusing on strengthening cooperation in training, the exchange of experts, and the building of a database for their operations. The two sides also agreed to work closely together to combat transnational crime and implement activities to celebrate the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year in 2012.

In 2011, they jointly held the second meeting of the People’s Procuracy agencies along Vietnamese and Lao border. They discuss measures to strengthen cooperation in criminal legal aid and the fight against organised transnational crimes, especially those related to drugs and human trafficking.
