The special friendship and comprehensive cooperation is an invaluable asset of Vietnam and Laos that should be preserved and continuously developed by generations of the two countries.
General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Choummaly Sayasone made the statement at a reception for a visiting delegation from the Vietnam Committee for Ethnic Minorities (CEM) led by its Minister-Chairman, Giang Seo Phu, in Vientiane on March 26.

The Lao leader welcomed the cooperative agreements reached during the talks between the CEM and Lao National Construction Front delegations, considering them a specific manifestation of the effective cooperation between the two sides.

He said that Laos always highly values Vietnam’s assistance in the past as well as in the present, especially in human resource training.

He expressed his wish that the two countries’ agencies in charge of ethnic minorities would boost cooperation and mutual support in maintaining social order and security, especially in border areas, as well as in fighting forces that sabotage the Vietnam-Laos special friendship.

For his part, Minister-Chairman Phu expressed the CEM’s determination to join the Lao National Construction Front in performing their cooperative agreements as well as agreement between the two countries’ Politburos.
