Vietnam and Laos should increase the use of jointly run workshops, talks and exchanges between central and grassroots organisations in order to preserve and develop the traditional rapport between the two nations.

That was the focal point of a speech delivered by Choummaly Saynhasone, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and State President while receiving a visiting delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Education, in Vientiane, on May 14.

The Lao leader appreciated the cooperation between the Vietnamese commission and the LPRP’s Department of Propaganda and Training in the fields of ideology, politics and culture.

He also hoped that the two groups would continue to work in a positive manner as they did in the past.

The Vietnamese delegation, led by To Huy Rua, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Director of the Commission, has been visiting Laos since May 12.

During their working trip to the country, the delegation met with Vientiane municipal authorities, visited the Lao National Political and Administrative Academy and several economic and cultural establishments in Vientiane.
