Vietnam will do its best to join hands with China to solidify the Vietnam-China strategic partnership for mutual benefit and for the sake of peace and development.

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said this at a reception for the delegation from the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) led by Vice President of Li Wuwei in Hanoi on April 18.

Mr Hung spoke highly of the results of cooperation between the CPAPD and the Vietnam Peace Committee, which has helped promote mutual understanding and cross-cultural exchanges. He asked the two sides to continue their close cooperation to contribute to the process of peace and disarmament in the world.

The Vietnamese NA and people always follow and make every effort to develop the Vietnam-China traditional and friendly relations nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Mao Zedong, as well as predecessors of the two countries.

Mr Sang said the Vietnamese NA is keen to boost cooperation with the National People’s Congress of China, adding that both sides need to support each other at regional and international parliamentary forums, promote information exchanges and share professional experiences to ensure that the two Governments effectively carry out cooperation projects and programmes.

For his part, Vice President Li Wuwei praised the achievements Vietnam has recorded in the process of Party building and socio-economic development.

He said he hopes the two legislative bodies will promote exchanges and share experiences in legislation and supervision, as a contribution to fostering the long lasting Vietnam-China friendship.
