Addressing the event, Italian ambassador to Vietnam Lorenzo Angeloni said Italy now has 21 development projects being deployed in Vietnam, with total investment capital of EUR76 million sourced from the Italian Government.
Under the framework of inter-governmental agreements between the two countries, several projects will be supported by the Italian government over the next three years, with EUR30 million in loans and EUR4.5 million is assistance.
Mr. Angeloni noted that the projects focus on health care, education, vocational training, water, hygiene and commerce, mainly in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Danang provinces. These diverse activities are making great contributions to eliminating hunger and reducing poverty in Vietnam, he added.
He also emphasised establishing of joint-ventures between Italy and Vietnam, while encouraging Vietnamese businesses to seek information and connect with Italian enterprises for investment co-operation.
Eviva Company also proposed choosing some cooperation project sites to become tourist destinations, such as the My Son relics in Quang Nam and the Tam Giang Lagoon in Thua Thien-Hue. The tours will be held from September 8-11.
