Indonesian National Police (POLRI) Chief Bambang Hendaso Danuri and Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Le Hong Anh have signed a joint statement to boost bilateral cooperation in preventing and fighting trans-national crime.

General Hong Anh, who visited Indonesia from August 2-6, said at the signing ceremony that the agreement is an important step in carrying out a Memorandum of Understanding on this matter, signed by the two governments in 2005.

He also asked responsible agencies on both sides to establish a joint working group to review the implementation of the agreement.

Meanwhile, General Bambang Hendaso Danuri affirmed that POLRI will closely work with Vietnamese police to create a safe and secure area and ensuring peace and stability for development and prosperity.
