Vietnam hopes to strengthen cooperation with Oman and will create favourable conditions for Oman businesses to invest in Vietnam, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Mr. Triet made the statement at a reception for Oman Minister of Commerce and Industry, Maqbul bin Ali bin Sultan in Hanoi on January 10.

At the reception, the President welcomed Mr. Sultan’s visit and expressed his delight at the development of Vietnam-Oman relationship.

However, the trade cooperation between the two countries is not on par with their potentials and advantages, he said, adding that he hopes Oman businesses will promote their investment in Vietnam, especially in oil and gas, infrastructure, and economic zones.

Minister Sultan congratulated Vietnam on its recent economic achievements and hoped more Vietnamese labourers and experts will be sent to Oman to work.

He also said Oman will send delegations of experts to Vietnam to seek cooperation opportunities and strengthen ties between the two countries.
