Vietnam highlights commitment to deepening ties with Mongolia

Vietnam places importance on enhancing ties with its traditional friends, including Mongolia, and stands ready to work closely with the Mongolian Government and people to advance the bilateral comprehensive partnership in a long-term manner, said Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu.

Addressing a reception hosted by the Mongolian Embassy on February 5 to mark Tsagaan Sar (the White Month), Mongolia’s traditional Lunar New Year, Vu extended New Year greetings on behalf of the Vietnamese Government and people to their Mongolian counterparts. He highlighted the enduring friendship between the two countries, noting that bilateral ties have been consolidated and expanded across multiple sectors in recent years.

Vietnam and Mongolia officially elevated their relations to a comprehensive partnership during the state visit to Mongolia by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam in September 2024, creating a firm foundation for bilateral cooperation to enter a new stage of development.

Mongolian Ambassador to Vietnam Jigjee Sereejav welcomed the positive trajectory of the partnership, reaffirming that Mongolia attaches great importance to and seeks to further deepen effective, wide-ranging and long-term cooperation with Vietnam, its leading partner in Southeast Asia.

The ambassador also congratulated Vietnam on the successful 14th National Party Congress, which outlined key goals and strategic orientations for the country’s next development phase. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by Party General Secretary To Lam, the Vietnamese people will continue to reap significant new achievements in implementing the Congress’s Resolution.
