A graduation ceremony was held in Phnom Penh on August 26 by the Cambodian National Assembly (NA)’s Secretariat to present certificates of information technology (IT) to 120 trainees.

The IT training is part of a project to build IT facilities for the Cambodian National Assembly from 2011-2012. The US$2million project aims to build a computer-controlled system, build databases, increase the speed of Internet transmission and enhance office computer skills in order to boost NA operations.

Addressing the ceremony, a representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia congratulated the Cambodian NA’s Secretariat on successfully organising the first training course to provide high skilled human resources for the project.

The project is a vivid example of the close-knit friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, helping to promote peace and development in Cambodia and to carry out the roadmap for building an ASEAN community.
