Vietnam and Germany should continue to develop cooperation in all fields, especially in education and training, said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan at a reception for German Minister of Education Dorothea Henzler in Hanoi on March 14.

Mr Nhan spoke highly of Germany’s experience in vocational training, saying that Vietnam wants to cooperate with German partners in this field in the near future.

The Deputy PM expressed his hope that the German Minister will continue providing favourable conditions for the implementation of the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership agreement signed by the two countries in 2011.

Minister Henzler said she was delighted at the fine development of bilateral ties in recent years, and pledged to boost cooperation in the field of education and training, especially in vocational training.

She highly valued Vietnamese students’ achievements and social activities in Germany, saying that her country is providing the best possible conditions for them to study well.

Ms Henzler highlighted the “Vietnam meets Hessen” program which has been launched to boost mutual understanding among young people of both countries.

She said she was pleased at the effective implementation of German teaching programs at 12 schools in Hanoi, Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh City.

During her current visit to Vietnam, the German Minister wants to learn more about Vietnam’s education system and help the Southeast Asian country increase the quality of teaching methods and appliances.
