(VOV) - A ceremony was held in Vientiane on October 19 to hand over the second phase of the project to upgrade the Lao National Academy for Politics and Public Administration (LNA).

Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavath and LNA Director Kikeo Khaykhamphithoun attended the event, along with Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (HCMA) Ta Ngoc Tan, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Ta Minh Chau, and other senior officials from both countries.

The project was carried out by the HCMA with non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government.

It included constructing a five-storey building with 32 classrooms on 5,630m2, a 62 room four-storey dormitory covering 2,920m2, and other works on the 3,000m2 campus, which is landscaped with trees and flowers.

LNA Director Kikeo Khaykhamphithoun sincerely thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for their valuable assistance in upgrading the LNA. This practical and significant project will help Lao officials improve their study of political theory and contribute to the national development of Laos, he said.
