Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong visited the Clinical Immunology Department at the George Pompidou Hospital in Paris on April 28.

Mr Trong, who is also chairman of the National Committee for AIDS, Drugs and Prostitution Prevention and Control, was briefed on the department’s treatment and care services for people living with HIV, especially drug addicts. He discussed with department heads the possibility of cooperation in this field.

The head of the department, Professor Laurence Weiss said that her department is willing to share their experience with Vietnamese hospitals.

“We also hope to learn from your operations by exchanging delegations and information,” added Prof. Weiss.

The Clinical Immunology Department has received and treated people living with HIV since the 1970s. Last year, it catered for more than 1,500 patients. The department and the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases established relations several years ago.
