The Vietnamese Government will grant relief aid worth US$100,000 to earthquake victims in northwest China's Qinghai province.
A representative of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry made the announcement while meeting with a representative of the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi on April 22.
The Chinese representative thanked Vietnam for providing aid to China to help the quake-hit province overcome the heavy consequences of the disaster, considering it a vivid manifestation of the friendly and neighbourly relationship between the two countries.
A 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit Qinghai province on April 14, killing 2,064 people and injuring more than 12,000 others. The death toll is expected to rise as 175 locals remain missing.
