“Stability in Thailand is not only for the sake of the country but also in the common interest of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries,” PM Dung said.
He affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of protesting violent and terrorist acts, which lead to the loss of human life and property for the Thai people.
Minister Kasit Piromya briefed PM Dung on his country’s recent socio-economic development, saying the political situation is still under the government’s control. He thanked Vietnam’s support for Thailand’s national reconciliation process.
The Thai government wants to cement and deepen ties in all areas with Vietnam, Mr Kasit said, expressing his hope that the neighbouring country will continue its support for Thailand in expanding cooperative relations with other ASEAN countries.
Earlier the same day, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem and Minister Kasit Piromya held talks, affirming continued enhancement of bilateral cooperation at regional and international forums as well as acceleration of subregional connectivity, including transport linkages.
