Vietnam expects to receive more assistance from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for its priority projects, particularly in energy, transport and infrastructure construction.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai was speaking while receiving Laurence Carter, Director of the Infrastructure Advisory Department of the IFC, a member of the World Bank, in Hanoi on April 21.

Mr Hai confirmed that the Vietnamese government is committed to reforming the economy, reducing poverty, and fighting corruption, and it wants to receive further assistance from the WB.

For his part, Mr Carter said he wants to expand the IFC’s consultancy programme for developing Vietnam’s infrastructure.
