Vietnam and the European Union have conducted the third round of their talks regarding the signing of a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA), which will provide a favourable framework for them to expand comprehensive cooperative ties over the next few years.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Assistant to the Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and the EU delegation was headed by James Moran, Asia Director of the EC’s Directorate General for External Relations of the EC.

In this round of talks, which took place on April 21-23 in Brussels, Vietnamese and EU officials discussed a number of provisions and overall principles as well as issues relating to cooperation, development and human rights.

They also talked about how to cooperate with the International Criminal Court (ICC) and discussed ways of eradicating weapons of mass destruction.
