The fourth round of talks regarding the signing of a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) between Vietnam and the European Union concluded in Hanoi on July 17.
The Vietnamese delegation was led by Assistant to the Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son while the EU delegation was headed by James Moran, Director for Asia of the Directorate General for External Relations of the EC.
During the two-day talks, Vietnamese and EU officials discussed a number of issues in a spirit of friendship, mutual respect and understanding. Some progress has been made in provisions on trade, human rights and other areas of cooperation.
They also agreed to conduct the fifth round of talks on the PCA in Brussels, Belgium, in the fourth quarter of this year.
