During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation participated in various working sessions with Egypt’s Parliament and State Agencies.
On December 15, Mr. Son and his entourage met with Minister of Legal Affairs and Parliamentary Councils, Moufed Mahmoud Shehab, who expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s past struggles for independence and present achievements in national construction and economic development.
Egypt highly appreciates Vietnam’s support for the country at international arena and Arab-related issues, he said, adding that despite the difference in the structure of the Parliament, both sides can exchange experiences in promoting the role of the Vietnamese NA and Egypt’s People’s Assembly (lower house) and Shura Council (upper house) in legislative activities.
Mr. Shehab asked the two countries’ parliaments to strengthen their ties and contribute to the development of Egypt-Vietnam relationship.
On the same day, during a meeting with Minister of State for Administrative Development, Ahmed Darwish, Mr. Son was introduced to the procedures of administrative reform in Egypt which aimed to attract more investment and improve the effectiveness of state management.
Minister Darwish hoped that the two countries will cooperate to reform administrative procedures, and build a law-governed state and a market economy.
