Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made this statement on June 19 while receiving Lao Minister of Home Affairs Khampan Philavong in Hanoi.
Minister Philavong briefed Deputy PM Phuc on his delegation’s work with Vietnamese ministries and sectors and spoke highly of the Vietnamese Ministry of Interior’s attention and assistance to its Lao counterpart.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two ministries, both sides will continue enhancing cooperation and sharing information and experiences in administrative affairs, and issues related to cadres, State employees and non-governmental organizations, as well as emulation movements, rewards, religion and archives, Mr Philavong said.
He said he hopes that the continued support from the Vietnamese Ministry of Interior will help Laos build a strong and effective administration.
Deputy PM Phuc appreciated the Lao delegation’s visit to mark the 50th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic ties (1962-2012) and the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Treaty (1977-2012).
Vietnam is willing to help the Lao Ministry of Home Affairs improve its cadres’ professional skills by sending consultants to advise, assist in research, help build appropriate legal policies and facilitate administrative reforms, said Mr Phuc.
