Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting friendly and cooperative ties with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) for the benefit of the two countries, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said in Hanoi on May 25.

During a reception for newly accredited DPRK Ambassador to Vietnam, Kim Chang-il, Mr Dung also affirmed that Vietnam opposes the use of force in international relationships and supports peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.

He said he hoped Ambassador Kim Chang-il would closely work with Vietnamese ministries and departments to strongly promote trade and investment between the two countries during his term of office in Vietnam.

Kim Chang-il congratulated Vietnam on its comprehensive achievements, especially in economic development and the international arena.

He affirmed that he would do his utmost to further promote bilateral friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries.
