Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh received General Pak Jae Kyong, Deputy Minister of the People’s Armed Forces of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, in Hanoi on March 24.
Thanh said the visit will contribute to promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries and two armed forces.
General Pak Jae Kyong informed his host of the results of his talks with his Vietnamese counterpart, Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, during which the two sides discussed international and regional issues and bilateral ties, for the sake of peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Earlier, the visiting general and his entourage laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, and visited the army-run telecom group, Viettel, and Ha Long Bay.
