Vietnam and Denmark should continue boosting cooperation in economics, trade, investment, national defence – security, culture, education, especially in climate change adaptation, the environment, energy and green growth in the near future.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung proposed this while receiving Danish Ambassador Jonh Nielsen in Hanoi on December 29. He said the two legislative bodies need to work more closely to ensure efficiency in cooperative projects between the two Governments.

The Vietnamese NA hails the official visit to Vietnam by the Chairman of the Danish Parliament early next year, Mr Hung said, adding that he believes it will actively contribute to further strengthening the two countries’ friendship in general and the two legislatures' cooperation in particular.

He said he hopes the diplomat will do his utmost to further deepen the two countries’ friendship and affirmed that the Vietnamese NA will continue assisting him during his working term in Vietnam.

Ambassador Nielsen said that the Danish Government will provide further official development assistance to Vietnam to help it in the national development process.

The diplomat said he hopes the Vietnamese NA will continue facilitate the two countries’ cooperative programmes on public administration and administrative reform, thus promoting cooperative projects for mutual benefits.
