The Czech Republic aims to strengthen its traditional friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, said Miroslav Antl, Chairperson of the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Czech Senate.

Miroslav Antl, who is on a visit to Vietnam from September 25 to October 1, made the statement in Hanoi on September 26 during a working session with a Vietnamese National Assembly delegation led by Phan Trung Ly, Chairman of the National Assembly Law Committee.

The Czech official said that the two countries have similar legal systems so they can help each other in legislative work.

Mr Ly highly valued the Czech delegation’s current visit, saying it will help enhance bilateral ties.

The two representatives informed each other of situations in both countries, especially the activities of their respective legislative bodies.

The same day, the Czech delegation also worked with leaders of the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Supreme People's Court and the Ministry of Justice, and visited some historical and cultural relics in Hanoi.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam-Czech Friendship Association, and make working trips to Quang Ninh and Hai Phong.
