Vietnam, Cuba strengthen traditional relations

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem reaffirmed Vietnam's traditional friendship with Cuba while meeting with the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee (CPC CC) Secretary, Fernando Remirez de Estenos, in Hanoi on March 6.

Mr Khiem told Mr Estenos, also Head of the CPC CC Department for External Relations, that Vietnam always wants to have friendly ties and become reliable partners with all countries in the world, especially Cuba.

During its global integration, Vietnam wishes to receive stronger support and assistance from international friends, including the Cuban people, the top diplomat concluded.

Mr Khiem's views were shared by his guest, who expressed strong belief in further development of the friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

The two countries will continue to reach a consensus in international forums, said Estenos.
