Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged the Cuban Ministry of Informatics and Communications to tighten cooperative ties with the Vietnamese Ministry of Posts and Telematics, particularly in network security to help fulfill socio-economic targets set by each country.

While receiving Cuban Minister of Informatics and Communications Ramiro Valdes Menendez in Hanoi on April 2, PM Dung also asked the Inter-governmental Committee of the two countries to review bilateral coordination activities and execute the signed agreements.

The PM expressed his happiness at the recovery of President Fidel Castro as well as the growing ties of special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, including effective cooperation between the two ministries.

He praised Cuba's achievements in health care and education and expressed his belief that under the leadership of President Fidel Castro, Cuba will make more achievements in all fields.

The Government of Vietnam will do its utmost to boost the comprehensive cooperative relations between the two governments and people, said Mr Dung.

For his part, Minister Menendez briefed his host on the results of talks with the Ministry of Posts and Telematics, including an informatics and telecommunications agreement reached between the two sides earlier the same day. He proposed that the Vietnamese Government support projects to be implemented by the two ministries in the near future.
