Vietnam vehemently protests the barbarous act and believes that perpetrators will be dully punished.

The statement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga on January 25 in reply to reporters' question about Vietnam's reaction to the January 25 bombing at Domodedovo International Airport.

On the same day, State President Nguyen Minh Triet sent a message of condolences to his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, Russian people and the victims’ families.

Russian and Vietnamese agencies have confirmed, there were no casualties among Vietnamese passengers in this bomb blast.

By 7 am on the morning of January 25 (local time), 35 people were reported dead and 180 injured, in which two British people were killed and nearly 10 foreigners were wounded.

The Russian Ministry of Health said as many as 110 injured people, including 47 seriously wounded were in 7 hospitals in Moscow. The injured foreigners are from Tajikistan, the UK, Moldova and Serbia.

The Moscow administration has decided to give emergency aid to families whose relatives were killed with US$67,000 per family and between US$32,000-48,000 per injured person.

Earlier, Russian security agencies had received a warning about an attack at a Moscow airport.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on January 24 strongly condemned the suicide bombing at Domodedovo Airport, while Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Aders Fogh Rasmussen expressed his solidarity with Russia.

On the same day, leaders of the US, UK, France, Bulgaria, Germany, Egypt, Jordan, Canada and Australia strongly condemned the cruel bombing.

The January 24 suicide bombing at the airport is considered the largest ever since the beginning of the year and the second one after a bomb attack in the Moscow underground on March 29, 2010, which killed 40 people and injured more than 100 others.
