“Vietnam severely condemns the brutal terrorist explosions in Jakarta on July 17 that left many dead and injured. The culprits must be heavily punished,” Le Dung, a spokesman for the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry said.

“The government and the people of Vietnam convey our sincere sympathies and condolences to the government and the people of Indonesia, as well as the families of the victims,” he added.

Two bombs rocked the Ritz Carlton Hotel and the nearby JW Marriot Hotel in central Jakarta in the early morning of July 17, killing at least nine people and wounding more than 50, according to Indonesian authorities.
