The two-hour closing ceremony was attended by senior officials of Vietnam and China, as well as thousands of people and students of the two countries.

Addressing the event, Vu Xuan Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) announced the completion of the border demarcation and landmark planting on land between the two countries. This has created a firm foundation for long-term socio-economic development in each country, and is considered a valuable experience in resolving issues of mutual concern through friendly negotiations.

Mr Hong also reaffirmed the determination of both sides to strengthen bilateral cooperation following the motto of "friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, and looking towards the future” and the spirit of "good neighbours, good friends, good comrades, good partners".
