General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defence, and Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun, China’s Minister of National Defence, take part in activities, including a welcome ceremony at Mong Cai International Border Gate, a friendship tree planting, a groundbreaking ceremony for the Hai Son commune health station, visits to Tran Phu High School and Tra Co Border Guard Station, and talks.

From early morning at Mong Cai International Border Gate, where the first official activities take place, forces were ready for the welcome ceremony for Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun and the Chinese delegation. The military band, honour guard and security forces took their positions to ensure the event is conducted in a formal and well-organised manner, with absolute safety.

On March 19, the programme will continue with activities in China. General Phan Van Giang will lead the Vietnamese delegation to China for the exchange.

The Vietnam-China Border Defence Friendship Exchange is an important defence external relations activity, held regularly in border provinces of both countries. It continues to develop in scale and depth, with diverse and practical activities.

Through each edition, defence cooperation between Vietnam and China in general, and cooperation among border protection forces, local administrations and people in border areas in particular, has made positive progress and achieved substantive results, contributing to further strengthening relations between the two countries and their militaries.

Vietnam–China border defence friendship exchange slated for mid-March

VOV.VN - The 10th Vietnam–China Border Defence Friendship Exchange is scheduled to take place in Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) on March 18-19, the Ministry of National Defence announced at a press briefing on March 10.
