Vietnam and China have agreed to set up a joint committee to coordinate land border activities between the two countries.

The agreement was reached at the 35th chairman-level session of the Vietnam-China joint Committee for Land Border Demarcation and Marker Planting, which ended in HCM City on December 24.

The new committee will manage boundaries, border markers and gates in accordance with related provisions of the Protocol on Border Demarcation, the Agreement on Border Management Regulations and the Agreement on Border Gates and Border Gate Management Regulations signed by the two governments’ representatives in November this year.

During the four-day session, both sides signed a report reviewing land border demarcation and market planting.
