The Vietnamese Party, State, National Assembly and people always attach importance to developing friendship, neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation with China, considering this as a long-term and consistent policy.

National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong made the affirmation while receiving a visiting delegation of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, led by Vice Chairman Lie Que, in Hanoi on December 7.

She proposed the two sides boost exchange of visits and experience in ethnic affairs and policymaking, as well as coordinate in activities in the field, to bring benefits to both nations.

For his part, Lie expressed his determination to further enhance cooperation between relevant agencies of the parliaments and governments of the two countries.

Both sides discussed measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation in ethnic affairs.

Earlier, the Chinese delegation had a working session with a delegation of the NA Council of Ethnic Affairs, led by Chairman K’sor Phuoc.

They exchanged information on the current situation in lawmaking and ethnic policies.

K’sor Phuoc expressed his wish that the two sides will expand cooperation in drafting laws and legal documents relating to ethnic affairs, to ensure the rights and legal benefits of ethnic groups.

Lie affirmed that his organisation is ready to carry out exchange activities with the Vietnamese counterpart to contribute to the fine traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
