Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, who is also National Assembly Chairman, made the remark while receiving Senior Lieutenant General Guo Boxiong, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, in Hanoi on April 13.

He highly valued the outcomes of the talks between the two countries’ high-level military delegations, urging the two Defence Ministries to closely work together in implementing the signed agreements and contribute to boosting Vietnam-China relations.

The Party, State and people of Vietnam will spare no effort together with the Party, State and people of China to elevate the Vietnam-China “comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership” to a new level, for the benefit of both countries’ people, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world, Mr. Trong affirmed.

Vice Chairman Guo Boxiong, who is also a Politburo member, stressed that with the two countries’ shared the motto of “friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-lasting stability, future-oriented vision” and the spirit of “good neighbours, good friends, good comrades, good partnership”, the “comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership” between the two parties, states and people of China and Vietnam has been constantly strengthened.

Party General Secretary Trong and Vice Chairman Guo emphasised that the Vietnam-China traditional friendship built and fostered by President Ho Chi Minh, President Mao Zedong and leaders of both countries and parties are valuable assets of the two parties, states and people as well as a firm basis for development in each country.
