Vietnam and Cambodia have agreed to promote friendly cooperation between the two armies in many fields, including human resource training, search and rescue, and in building a border of peace, cooperation, friendship and development.

Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Pol Saroun informed his host Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on May 21 about his working results with leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence and the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, during his Vietnam visit.

Saroun said he hopes the Vietnamese Government will facilitate the two armies’ cooperation in future.

PM Dung said Vietnam will do its utmost to continue deepening cooperation with Cambodia in a practical and effective manner.

Dung also asked the two armies to promote cooperation between military units in localities sharing the common border, and work closely together in joint patrol activities at sea, as well as in building and developing armed forces.
