In Russia, the delegation held talks with officials of the Russian State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee and the Russian Federation Council, and discussed ways to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides agreed to create a political-legal environment for bilateral investment and direct cooperation between their provinces and cities.

In Lithuania, the Vietnamese delegates talked with representatives of the country’s National Assembly External Relations Committee, the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Transport and the Law Research Institute to find solutions for restoring Vietnam-Lithuania friendship and cooperation.

For its part, Lithuania asked Vietnam to sponsor the ASEM transport meeting to be held in its capital Vinius in October and to support its candidacy for the general director position of the United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
It also suggested more exchanges between the two countries’ representatives and promotion of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
