Mr Phong made these remarks at a meeting to set up an association of overseas labour brokers in Macao on September 3.
At present, there are more than 6,000 Vietnamese guest workers in Macao, mostly working in hotels, entertainment services and private households.
Mr Phong stressed that that the world economy is now recovering, and so is Macao. Therefore, the labour market in this famous Asian entertainment centre is getting busier and showing positive sign of growth.
The Vietnamese Consul General also affirmed that Vietnam is one of the primacy sources of workers for foreign markets, including Macao. He expressed his hope that the newly-established association will help boost labour cooperation between Vietnam and Macao.
The non-governmental organisation, which comprises 50 members, will regulate overseas labour in this particular administrative area.
