The sixth North East Business Summit was concluded in Mumbai, India on January 22 with the participation of more than 1,000 delegates including Indian ministers, officials and ambassadors from South Asian and ASEAN nations.

Vietnamese ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Tan also attended the conference. Addressing the event, ambassador Tan affirmed further cooperation between Vietnam and the India’s northeastern region which shares many geographic similarities with Vietnam, especially as Vietnam and India are promoting their strategic partnership.

Mr Tan also emphasised the importance of strengthening the relations with Vietnam as well as ASEAN and other nations and the region.

The delegates debated issues related to the Indian government’s development strategies for its northeastern region which has a great tourism and economic potential, especially in mining, infrastructure, agriculture, and food processing.
