Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem is leading a Vietnamese delegation to the 10th ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Hungary on June 6-7.
The event drew the participation of foreign ministers from 46 Asia-European Meeting (ASEM) member nations and representatives from the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for the first meeting after its expansion in October, 2010.

The gathering focuses on global challenges, recovery of the world economy and ways to boost ASEM cooperation in the new international situation.

Over the past two years, Vietnam has put forth several initiatives to promote ASEM’s activities. It hosted numerous seminars and ASEM forums on culture, food security, climate change and social security.

Vietnam hosted the 9th ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Hanoi in May, 2009.
