Vietnam has shared its experience in building and implementing policies on labour and employment at the 100th International Labour Organisation (ILO) General Assembly session in Geneva.

The Vietnamese delegation, led by Secretary of Party Central Committee and Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, took part in many activities oragnised by ILO during the session from June 1-17.

Vietnamese officials held meetings with the Labour Minister of the Republic of Korea, the Human Resource Deputy Minister of Singapore, the ILO Director in the Asia-Pacific, and other ILO officials.

They will meet with the ILO General Director on June 15 with the aim of tightening cooperative ties between Vietnam and the world’s largest labour organisation.

Minister Ngan said that as a member of ILO governing body, Vietnam has improved its position and prestige in the international arena.

She emphasised Vietnam will draw up concrete plans, put forth specific goals and give priority to implementing the organization’s activities, as well as strengthening its cooperation with other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for mutual benefit.
